CanBooks celebrates 17 years!
Way back in 1991 our first print-runs were measured in the thousands. Since the birth of electronic publishing, (ebooks, web-based publishing, pdfs, and CDs) we now measure our 'readers' by the millions. Recent releases in Korea, Indonesia and China have opened up vast new potential. Contact with printers in Turkey, Sri Lanka and Russia have allowed us to print traditional books at greatly reduced prices. Just-in-time printing has allowed us to reduce inventory. The Internet has allowed up to distribute our own material directly to customers, thus maximizing profits and allowing us to discount prices significantly. This has opened up markets in many countries where the number of avid readers is growing exponentially All in all, the last ten years have been packed with exciting opportunities and growth, despite the struggles that publishers have traditionally faced in North American markets. What's next?
During 2008 we will concentrate on multiplying our points of sale, mostly through websites focused on specific issues, as well as distribution networks in Asia. We look forward to providing our authors with better exposure around the world.
