CanBooks celebrates 17 years! Way back in 1991 our first print-runs were measured in the thousands. Since the birth of electronic publishing, (ebooks, web-based publishing, pdfs, and CDs) we now measure our 'readers' by the millions. Recent releases in Korea, Indonesia and China have opened up vast new potential. Contact with printers in Turkey, Sri Lanka and Russia have allowed us to print traditional books at greatly reduced prices. Just-in-time printing has allowed us to reduce inventory. The Internet has allowed up to distribute our own material directly to customers, thus maximizing profits and allowing us to discount prices significantly. This has opened up markets in many countries where the number of avid readers is growing exponentially All in all, the last ten years have been packed with exciting opportunities and growth, despite the struggles that publishers have traditionally faced in North American markets. What's next? During 2008 we will concentrate on multiplying our points of sale, mostly through websites focused on specific issues, as well as distribution networks in Asia. We look forward to providing our authors with better exposure around the world.

New Advances in 2006 CanBooks has continued its innovative marketing strategy, attracting many new readers. Most of this success has come through online channels. CD's of e-books have also been popular. This year saw a dramatic rise in the sales of printed books. A special effort to market to the USA in 2006 caused our North American sales to pass our Euopean sale, which were the leaders in 2005. CanBooks uses traditional, Print-On-Demand, and electronic publishing. While most of our authors are Canadian, the vast majority of books are sold outside of Canada.
Dec 2005

Most of this success has come through e-books being made available through a number of Internet sites. CD's of e-books have also been popular. Some of the success was attributed to the release of free material directly on the web. All combined, there were more than 3000 new readers every day during this last year, catching the attention of the Guardian and other papers in the UK, Europe, and the USA. The majority of sales came through online channels, while Europe saw the most books marketed to traditional buyers. CanBooks uses traditional, Print-On-Demand, and electronic publishing. While all authors are Canadian, the vast majority of books are sold outside of Canada.

Dec 2004

2004 a Record Year for CanBooks: CanBooks enjoyed a record year during 2004 supplying material to over 250,000 readers, bringing the total to more than half a million since CanBooks was first created in 1991. This dramatic rise in readership during the last year has come about through the release of several titles in electronic format. Some of these have been e-books available for sale and downloading. CD's of e-books have also been popular. Some of the success was attributed to the released of free material directly on the web. This trend has continued into 2005 with readership topping 3000 new readers every day in March 2005 (First Quarter Reports, 2005) catching the attention of the Guardian and other papers in the UK, Europe, and the USA.
